Using herbs, cleaning up my diet, and tuning into the response my body sends me after consuming certain foods, I have successfully stepped into the body I thought I would never know. Now I focus on helping others do the same.
Hello there, I’m Jéraldine.
The first, and probably most important, thing to know about me is that I am a lover of life. As we all know, life is short, and time waits (or pauses) for no one. So, I make a conscious effort to surround myself with beauty and live a healthy lifestyle. To be alive is to be curious about everything, especially about nature, plants, and how nature can support us through many facets.
Herbal medicine is my wing woman, marching along side me and supporting me in all aspects of my health - mind, body, and spirit. I am always in awe when I learn about plants and witness their wonderful benefits. Having herbs incorporated in my health journey, using herbs, cleaning up my diet, and tuning into the response my body sends me after consuming certain foods, I have successfully stepped into the body I thought I would never know. Now I focus on helping others do the same.
Why I became an herbalist. I am a trained chef and was working in a high end Italian restaurant. I was generally happy but was experiencing some health challenges that my doctors could not help me solve. I was experiencing excruciating monthly cycles. Every month I would battle with painful cramps starting from mid-back to my feet. The pain used to have me on my knees with excessive nausea, nerve pain and spasms, some times I would pass out from the pain.
I began to investigate alternative approaches and found success through dietary changes and herbal remedies. I rarely experience these symptoms and when I do, they are mild and easily managed. My attitude toward my monthly cycle is much more positive and my body is thriving.
This experience showed me the power of herbal medicine and I realized I could use what I know about food to help other people heal. I soon found myself working at a plant nursery in Phoenix, Arizona. Working at the nursery was the perfect job for me. I was outside, and I loved learning about and tending all of the plants. Before I knew it, I was back home in Oregon, getting in herbal environments, meeting fellow plant lovers, and exploring Oregon’s amazing forests full of wild medicine.
My education. I have a strong foundation in Western Herbalism through my studies with The Acorn School of Herbal Medicine and The North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. I am certified as a Vitalist Herbalist and continue to engage in further studies through the Mederi Academy. I also work as the Apothecary Herbalist at the Mederi Center.
I hold a Culinary Degree through The Oregon Coast Culinary Institute. Through Mayblossom Botanicals, I am bringing together my love of good food and herbal medicine to help others along their health journey. Food is medicine.
Client support. My approach is to support my clients through herbal practices, herbal education, nutritional recommendations, and most importantly, to empower them in their health journey. Our bodies are our first healer, and our minds are our second healer. I work to help my clients bring both healers together to support them in their journey to better health and healing.
When I’m not wandering the hillsides foraging nature’s wild foods, studying herbs, or testing new formulations, I can be found elsewhere in the world, traveling and exploring different cultures and environments. I like to write poems and journal about my experiences and perception of the outside world.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and Mayblossom Botanicals.
Peace & Love,
Jéraldine
